Our team here at Samantha’s Flowers ft Gmah’s Balloons, are joining thousands of Aussies this August in the Cancer Council’s Cold Dip—but for us, it’s deeply personal.
On Sunday 24th August, at Margate Beach at 8am our team at Samantha’s Flowers ft Gmah’s Balloons is taking the Cancer Council Cold Dip — and we’re doing it for someone incredibly close to our hearts, Tammy Struthers.
Tammy isn’t just a friend. She’s family.
She’s Sam’s closest friend and one of the kindest souls we know. At just 49, Tammy has been diagnosed with an aggressive and terminal form of metastatic cancer.
She’s a devoted wife to Hamish, a proud mum to two sons, and a loving Nan to four beautiful grandbabies. Though time is heartbreakingly short, Tammy’s spirit remains strong. Even now, her focus is on others.
Her one wish? “Raise awareness. Raise money. Help other families.”
So we’re making a splash. For Tammy. For hope. For every Aussie affected by cancer.
🌊 What is the Cancer Council Cold Dip?
Every year, thousands of Aussies take the plunge to raise money for cancer research and support.
Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.
This August, we’re dipping to help change that.
How it works:
Jump into the ocean, a pool, river, lake, or even a cold bath — once, daily, or as often as you like throughout August. Just make it cold, and make it count.
We’re dipping on Sunday 24th August — but you can dip any day that suits you!
